Minerals Information:

There were many natural resources available in Telangana state.
Adilabad, Bhupalpally, Kothagudem, Thandur and Khammam areas are rich in Coal mines.
Adilabad, Khammam and Warangal areas have Iron ore resources.
Asbestos mines were found in Khollapur (Adilabad district).
Barites mines were mostly found in Khammam and Mahabubnagar districts.
Copper mines were found in mylaram of Khammam district.
Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Rangareddy were rich in Limestone. Limestone is used in Cement manufacturing.
Manganese will be found in few districts of Adilabad.


Telangana is a home for thick forests which results in high rainfall. The average rainfall is 35 cm.


Forests in Telangana are spread in 27,59,804 hectares. Teak trees are majorly found in the forests of Telangana.


Major rivers in Telangana are: Krishna and Godavari are the major rivers that flow through Telangana. There were many minor rivers that flow through Telangana are Manair, Bhima, Dindi, Thungabhadhra, Bheemaradhi, Manjeera, Pranahitha, Musinadhi, Paler, Munneru, Penganga and Vaardha.
