Alphabet Test - Logical Reasoning

Alphabet test type questions carry certain words, In which the candidate is required to put them in the order in which they would be arranged in a dictionary and then state the word which is placed in the desired place. To answer these questions candidate should aware of Dictionary usage.

Example Problems

Eg. 1. Arrange the given words in alphabetical order and pick the one that comes first.
(1) Cloud   (2) Middle   (3) Grunt   (4) Mob   (5) Chain

These words can be properly arranged as Chain, Cloud, Grunt, Middle, Mob. Clearly the first word is Chain. Hence the answer is (5)

Alphabet Test Problems

Eg. 2. In the word 'PARADISE', how many pairs of letters are there which have as many letters between them in the word as in the alphabet.
(1) One   (2) Three   (3) Four   (4) Two   (5) None

Such pairs are PRAE and AD. So the answer is (2).
